PlannedPickleball is coming to Prince.
Four courts under an air dome, on the site of the former five-a-side pitch next to the clubhouse. The courts don’t exist yet and nothing can be booked — this is an announcement, not an offer.
The opening date and prices have not been set yet.
What’s planned
Four courts under one dome.
Pickleball takes the place of the former five-a-side pitch, next to the clubhouse: four courts laid out 2 × 2 — two side by side and two more above them — under an air dome.
Four courts, 2 × 2
Two courts side by side and two more above them, on the area of the former five-a-side pitch. A pickleball court is smaller than a tennis court, so four fit there.
Under a dome
All four courts are covered by an air dome with a membrane. The courts are under a roof.
Tennis stays as it is
The five clay tennis courts stay where they are and run as before. Pickleball goes on the other side of the clubhouse.
This is an announcement, not an offer. We’ll post the opening date and prices on this page and notify everyone on the interest list.
For those who haven’t played
Pickleball in four sentences.
It’s played in doubles or singles, on a court much smaller than tennis, with a solid paddle and a light plastic ball with holes. Serves are underhand and the net is lower than in tennis — which is why your first match can happen the same day.
Two or four players
Usually two against two. The court is the size of a badminton court, so there’s less running and more rallying.
The “kitchen” by the net
Next to the net is a zone where the ball may not be volleyed. Because of it rallies last longer and the game is more tactics than power.
Paddle and plastic ball
A solid paddle without strings and a light ball with holes that flies slower than a tennis ball. Serves are underhand, so there’s no difficult serve to learn.
Learn it right away
The basics take a few minutes to explain, and kids and retirees alike play it. That’s why pickleball works well with a mixed-experience group.
Interest list
Notify me when it launches.
Pickleball can’t be booked with us yet because the courts don’t exist yet. Leave your name and contact details and we’ll reach out as soon as bookings open — no newsletter or anything else in the meantime.
The list is only for pickleball updates. For tennis and a table at Caffe Prince, regular booking applies.
How it works
1 · Leave your name and contact on the interest list — takes less than a minute.
2 · We’ll reach out once the opening date is known, before bookings open to everyone.
3 · Until then nothing is charged and nothing is booked; you can unsubscribe from the list with a single reply.
Where exactly
On the site plan, “Planned” layer.
The plan is to scale, from a drone shot of the venue. The dome with four courts sits on the site of the former five-a-side pitch; switch to “Today” for the existing courts.
